Ram Navami, the birth of Lord Rama is also being celebrated this year on Thursday, March 30. The auspicious festival of Ram Navami coincides with the last day of Chaitra Navratri. Chaitra Navratri is a nine-day auspicious festival starting next week. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Rama was born on the ninth tithi of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. And so, this day is celebrated as Lord Rama's birthday every year.

On this special day dedicated to Lord Rama, devotees should wake up early and take bath. After that he has to clean the house and the pooja room. Place an idol or frame of Lord Rama in the pooja room and prepare prasad to offer to the Lord. Now decorate the aarti thal with akshat, sandalwood and incense sticks. Read Ramayana or other holy texts and perform Aarti during Muhurta.
