Festive Celebrations at Bahra University
The atmosphere at Bahra University in Waknaghat was filled with joy as the institution hosted an inter-departmental competition titled “Makhan Chor – Dahi Handi” in celebration of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Various departments participated with great enthusiasm, demonstrating their teamwork and strength in the traditional activity of breaking the Dahi Handi.
Departments including Core Engineering, Hotel Management, Management, Alpha School, School of Law, and Forensic Sciences showcased their skills. The Core Engineering team triumphed, successfully breaking the handi in an impressive 56 seconds, which was met with loud applause and cheers from the audience.
The event was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. R.P. Nanta, Registrar Vineet Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sushil, along with deans, department heads, faculty, staff, and students.
During this festive occasion, students reminisced about the divine leelas of Lord Krishna, emphasizing the values of cooperation, discipline, and unity. The celebration not only connected them to India’s rich cultural heritage but also highlighted the significance of teamwork.
Chairman Sardar Gurvinder Singh Bahra and Vice Chairman Gurinder Singh Bahra conveyed their warm wishes for Janmashtami to the university community, commending the students' enthusiastic involvement. They noted that such events foster leadership, collaboration, and a strong sense of community among the youth.
