Ram Mandir inauguration: Statues of elephant, lion, Lord Hanuman and Garuda installed at entrance gate – See pictures
Ayodhya: With the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya now counting days away, statues of elephant, lion lord Hanuman and Garuda have been installed at the entrance of the temple. These idols are made from pink sandstone which was sourced from Bansi Paharpur village in Rajasthan.
Use of pink stones
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra shared a message saying, “Idols of Elephant, Lion, Hanumanji and Garuda have been installed at the entrance of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. These idols are made of pink sandstone from Bansi Paharpur village in Rajasthan.” Earlier on Thursday, while sharing the features of the temple, the trust said that it is being built in traditional Nagar style. The length (east-west) of the temple is 380 feet, width 250 feet and height 161 feet. Apart from this, the temple will have three floors, each floor will be 20 feet high. The temple will have 392 pillars and 44 gates. According to a message shared by the trust, the main sanctum sanctorum of the temple will house an idol depicting the childhood of Ram Lalla and the first floor will house the Sri Ram Darbar.

Other features
Among other features, the temple will have five halls namely Nritya Mandapam, Ranga Mandapam, Sabha Mandapam, Prathana Mandapam and Kirtan Mandapam. Several idols of gods and goddesses also adorn the pillars and walls. Devotees coming to the temple will enter from the eastern side of the temple and climb 32 steps through the lion gate. The temple will also have provisions for ramp and lift facilities for the elderly and differently-abled, a message shared by the trust further informed. The temple will be inaugurated on January 22 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries for whom invitations have been sent.
