Emotional Farewell from ZEROBASEONE

ZEROBASEONE shared a heartfelt farewell with Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin, and Han Yujin as they concluded their final performance as a nine-member group. The emotional atmosphere was palpable during their sold-out encore concert in Seoul, which took place over three nights, ending on March 15. This marked the official conclusion of their nine-member era, coinciding with the expiration of contracts for the four members. From the outset, it was understood that ZEROBASEONE would have a limited run, and now they are set to evolve with a new lineup, signifying a significant shift for one of K-pop's leading fifth-generation boy bands.

The Journey of ZEROBASEONE

ZEROBASEONE's final act as a nine-member group

Formed through the survival show Boys Planet in 2023, ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) debuted in July 2023 under WakeOne Entertainment. The group consisted of members Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Seok Matthew, Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Taerae, Kim Gyuvin, Park Gunwook, and Han Yujin. Like many groups born from survival shows, ZB1 was initially a temporary project. Their contract was set for two years and six months, concluding in January 2026. To accommodate promotions and tours, all members agreed to extend their contract by two months, pushing the end date to March 2026. The remaining five members decided to continue promoting as ZEROBASEONE, citing a strong bond of trust.

Tears from Fans and Members

As the group concluded their final performance as a complete unit, emotions ran high among fans. Sung Hanbin was seen crying during the song 'In Bloom,' while Ricky embraced each member, culminating in a final OT9 selfie illuminated by stage lights. Social media quickly filled with videos and photos, as fans expressed their heartfelt emotions, vowing to cherish the memories and support the group. Many described this moment as 'the end of an era' for the Boys Planet lineup. One fan shared on X (formerly Twitter), 'my dearest zerobaseone, thank you for all the amazing memories, thank you for all the friends I met thanks to you, thank you for being such a wonderful talented and genuine group, you'll always be my nine brightest stars, I love you more than anything.' Another fan remarked, 'Watching them leave one by one and Zhang Hao being the last… that moment felt heavier than words. The stage lights were still on, but it felt like the end of a chapter.'

Reasons Behind the Departure of Four Members

Reason behind four members leaving ZEROBASEONE

Earlier this year, it was revealed that four members of ZEROBASEONE—Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin, and Han Yujin—would be returning to YH Entertainment, while the remaining five would continue as ZEROBASEONE. To provide fans with a final opportunity to say goodbye, the group organized a series of encore performances over three days in Seoul as part of their 2026 World Tour [HERE&NOW]. The primary reason for the departure is that the four members are affiliated with Yuehua Entertainment (YH Entertainment), and they have chosen to move on. They have now returned to their original agency, which has announced plans for future individual or group activities for these members.
