WWE Smackdown Set for Final Build-Up to Wrestlemania 41

This Friday, WWE Smackdown will serve as the final preparation for Wrestlemania 41, which is set to air shortly after the show concludes on the USA Network. Both main-event competitors for Wrestlemania will be present, providing fans with a sneak peek of the upcoming WWE title match.

The go-home Wrestlemania episode of WWE Smackdown will prominently feature Cody Rhodes. During Monday Night Raw, it was confirmed that the WWE Champion will be in attendance, alongside John Cena, who was previously announced for the Las Vegas event this Friday. Both superstars are slated to headline the second night of Wrestlemania this Sunday.

Prior to this announcement on Raw, there were speculations that Cena might not share the stage with Rhodes, especially after their three consecutive confrontations during WWE’s recent UK tour. However, they are now both advertised to appear on the last weekly televised show before Wrestlemania.

Since his heel turn at Elimination Chamber on March 1, John Cena has been vocal about his frustrations with fans who have not supported him over the years. He has vowed to capture the WWE title from Rhodes at Wrestlemania 41 and retire as champion, taking the belt with him after his final match in December.

In response, Cody Rhodes delivered a promo segment on last week’s Smackdown, surrounded by various former WWE Championship belts, including Cena’s iconic spinner belt from the Ruthless Aggression era. He asserted that the WWE Championship would remain with the fans as he aims for victory at Wrestlemania.
