WWE is set to bring back the King and Queen of the Ring tournament for the second consecutive year, as confirmed during the latest episode of SmackDown held at the Dignity Health Arena in Bakersfield, California. This announcement also unveiled two matches for the upcoming Night of Champions 2025 premium live event scheduled for later this month.


During Friday's SmackDown, general managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis made a significant announcement, revealing that the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will return, with the finals taking place at the Night of Champions event in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, June 28.



While the specific brackets for the 2025 King and Queen of the Ring tournaments have yet to be disclosed, it has been confirmed that the winners will earn a chance to compete for a world title at WWE's inaugural two-night SummerSlam event in early August. Notably, Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill are confirmed participants in this year's tournament.

Fatal-4-Way Qualifiers Announced for Raw and SmackDown

The opening round of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will feature a total of sixteen competitors in four fatal-4-way matches, with two matches each from Raw and SmackDown. The victors of these matches will advance to the semifinals, culminating in the finals at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.


The winners from the final matches will then proceed to compete at SummerSlam, which will take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey from August 2 to August 3, vying for championship titles. The initial fatal-4-way qualifiers for the 2025 WWE King and Queen of the Ring are set to occur on the June 9 and June 13 episodes of Raw and SmackDown, respectively.
