Will There Be a Third Season of Kohrra? Insights from the Cast and Crew
Kohrra Season 2 Concludes with a Cliffhanger
The recently concluded second season of Kohrra left viewers on the edge of their seats. Directed by Sudip Sharma and Faisal Rahman, the narrative revolves around the investigation led by Sub-Inspector Dhanwant Kaur and Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi into the murder of Preet Bajwa at her brother's barn. While the case reaches a resolution, the protagonists grapple with their personal crises. In an exclusive chat, director Sudip and actress Mona Singh discussed the possibility of a third season. The previous season featured Barun Sobti and Suvinder Vicky, with Barun reprising his role and Mona joining as SI Dhanwant.
Is a Third Season of Kohrra in Development?
When asked about the potential for a dream cast featuring Suvinder, Barun, and Mona in Kohrra 3, Sudip chuckled, stating, “I’m not focused on season three at the moment. We’ve just completed season two, and we’re grateful for the positive reception. It’s a long road ahead, and it’s tough to comment on that right now.”
Mona Singh Shares Her Thoughts
Mona playfully remarked, “Kohrra is still making waves. Let’s see what unfolds after it settles.” The second season of Kohrra is produced by Saurabh Malhotra, Sudip Sharma, Manuj Mittra, and Tina Tharwani, marking Sudip’s directorial debut alongside Faisal Rahman. The writing team includes Gunjit Chopra and Diggi Sisodia. The show premiered on February 11 and delves into the murder of Preet (Pooja Bhamrrah), whose death in her brother’s (Anurag Arora) barn raises numerous suspicions, including that of her husband (Rannvijay Singha), as two officers pursue the truth relentlessly.
The Netflix series returns with Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi (Barun Sobti) starting afresh under a new commanding officer, Sub-Inspector Dhanwant Kaur (Mona Singh). Her disciplined and methodical approach contrasts sharply with Garundi’s more laid-back and instinctive style. The cast also includes Rannvijay Singha, Prayrak Mehta, Muskaan Arora, Ekta Sodhi, and Vikhyat Gulati. The first season revolved around the murder of an NRI groom, Paul, with Sub-Inspector Balbir Singh Sekhon (Suvinder Vicky) leading the investigation, which profoundly changed him as a person and father.
