Box Office Update: 'Bhooth Bangla' Faces Challenges

The box office journey of "Bhooth Bangla" has reached a critical juncture as it encounters its first major hurdle on Monday, April 20. After a strong opening weekend, early reports indicate a downturn in ticket sales, with a significant drop in collections on Day 4. Featuring Akshay Kumar, this horror-comedy initially drew large crowds, but the momentum seems to have diminished as the week unfolds.

Directed by Priyadarshan, "Bhooth Bangla" signifies a long-awaited collaboration between the director and Akshay Kumar, who last worked together 14 years ago on memorable films. The movie features a talented cast, including Asrani, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Manoj Joshi, Mithila Palkar, and Jisshu Sengupta, enhancing its nostalgic charm and star power. The film kicked off its box office run with a paid preview earning of ₹3.75 crore, followed by an opening day collection of ₹12.25 crore, totaling ₹16 crore for Day 1, as reported by Sacnilk.

During the weekend, "Bhooth Bangla" experienced a notable surge in ticket sales, raking in ₹23 crore on Sunday alone. By the end of the weekend, the film's net collection reached ₹58 crore, with gross earnings in India totaling ₹69.37 crore. However, Monday's performance has raised alarms, as early trends suggest a sharp decline in box office figures.

As of 6:00 PM on Day 4, "Bhooth Bangla" has reportedly garnered around ₹2.52 crore, indicating a drop of over 50% from its earlier days. This decline raises concerns about the film's ability to even reach the ₹5 crore mark today, suggesting weaker traction during the weekdays than expected. Nevertheless, the overall box office performance remains commendable, with the total gross in India estimated at approximately ₹72.34 crore and net collections around ₹60.52 crore.

Regarding audience turnout, the occupancy rates for "Bhooth Bangla" on Day 4 have been modest, with morning shows showing an occupancy of 8.62% and afternoon shows at 15.62%. As the day continues, the final performance figures for the film are still awaited, leaving industry experts and fans curious about its future prospects.
