CBFC Clarifies Film Submission Status

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has confirmed that the highly anticipated film starring Sunny Deol, Suryaa Ant Se Aarambh Tak, has not yet been presented to them for certification. This announcement comes in light of concerns raised by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) regarding the film's promotional content and its portrayal of the medical field.

Concerns Raised by the IMA

The controversy began when the IMA sent a formal letter to Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw. In their letter, the IMA expressed serious concerns about the film's storyline, particularly its potential to adversely affect public perception of healthcare professionals and the medical community as a whole.

In their communication with the Ministry, the IMA pointed out several specific issues. They argued that the promotional material for the film seems to generalize corruption within the healthcare industry. While acknowledging that misconduct among professionals is a significant issue that requires legal and disciplinary measures, they emphasized that the actions of a few should not tarnish the reputation of the entire medical community.

Additionally, the IMA raised alarms about scenes depicting violence against doctors, nurses, and hospital staff. They warned that portraying such acts as heroic or justified could normalize aggression towards healthcare workers. Given that medical professionals already face considerable safety risks in their workplaces, content that glorifies hostility could further jeopardize those delivering essential services.

Request for Review and Film Overview

The IMA has urged the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to conduct an unbiased review of the film's content. They are advocating for corrective actions to address the alleged generalizations and violent depictions, and have requested the government to consider appropriate measures, including a possible ban if necessary.

Suryaa Ant Se Aarambh Tak is described as a narrative about a man dealing with personal loss who becomes embroiled in a complicated series of events related to the medical system. As the plot progresses, the protagonist uncovers what the filmmakers claim is a shocking truth hidden beneath a facade of legitimacy. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Sunny Deol, Ravi Kishan, Pragya Jaiswal, Tanushree Chakraborty, Manish Wadhwa, Tinu Anand, Virti Vaghani, Jisshu Sengupta, Khalid Siddiqui, Anoop Trivedi, and Rohit Tiwari. It is set to hit theaters on November 20.
