A Stunning Qawwali Celebration in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai
Samridhii Shukla, known for her role as Abhira in the hit series Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, recently opened up about an emotionally rich and visually captivating scene filmed for the show. This elaborate qawwali celebration, which blends music, romance, family dynamics, and emotional tension, represents a pivotal moment in the current storyline. Shukla expressed her enthusiasm for this sequence, highlighting that even after two and a half years in her role, the creative team continues to bring fresh surprises to both the cast and the viewers.
Discussing the qawwali scene, Shukla shared, "We just filmed the qawwali sequence, marking a first in our 2.5-year journey with Rishta. I thought we had explored every possible angle, yet we still managed to surprise ourselves with something innovative." This particular sequence revolves around the celebration of Dadisa's birthday, with Shukla noting that every aspect, from the intricate set design to the traditional attire and live music, contributed to its magnificence.
The ambiance was carefully designed to capture the spirit of a classic qawwali night. "It was stunning, from the atmosphere and the set design to the costumes; everything was ideal for a qawwali evening," she remarked. Shukla and her co-star Armaan took center stage, showcasing their skills through singing and instrument playing, while the choreography enhanced the overall experience. She described a special collaborative moment between Abhira and Armaan as a delightful jugalbandi.
Shukla also commended veteran actress Anita Raj for her mesmerizing solo performance in this sequence. "Another highlight is a beautifully executed one-shot dance by Anita Mam as Dadisa. She performed it wonderfully, and it’s always a pleasure to work alongside her," Shukla acknowledged, recognizing Raj's significant contributions to the series.
In addition to the celebratory aspects, the qawwali sequence is rich with emotional layers and intense drama. Shukla hinted at the rising tensions, stating, "We also have a dreamy segment featuring Abhira and Armaan, for which we filmed for about 4 to 5 hours to get it just right." She teased that viewers should brace themselves for considerable drama, including confrontations and conflicting views among characters as the plot unfolds. "Krish has insulted Disha, Aryan is furious and slaps Krish, and Armaan and Abhira are at odds with each other," she concluded, hinting at exciting developments ahead in the storyline.
