Excitement Builds for 'Ramayana' as Release Date Approaches

The eagerly awaited film 'Ramayana', helmed by director Nitesh Tiwari and featuring stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi, is now in the final phase of its promotional activities. Scheduled to premiere globally on November 5, 2026, the film has already achieved a remarkable milestone by grossing over Rs 20.15 crore in advance ticket sales in India as of November 1, 5 PM.

The production has successfully sold more than 4.54 lakh tickets across 13,256 active screenings, not counting blocked seats. While these numbers are impressive, they are being assessed in light of other major releases slated for 2026. Currently, 'Ramayana' ranks third among the highest advance grossers for day one, following notable competitors like 'Dhurandhar 2' and 'Drishyam 3'.

Regional Insights and Sales Trends

In terms of regional performance, Karnataka has emerged as the frontrunner for advance ticket sales, amassing Rs 3.96 crore in gross revenue. This success is largely due to the local fanbase of Yash, who plays Ravana in the film. The state has recorded 78,500 ticket sales, surpassing all other regions in the country. Within Karnataka, Bengaluru has distinguished itself as the leading city, contributing Rs 3.11 crore with 52,620 tickets sold across various languages.

Interest in the film is also notable in other areas, with Telangana and Gujarat reporting a high number of sold-out shows. Out of 42 fully booked screenings nationwide, Telangana accounts for 22, while Gujarat has 11. Despite these localized successes, industry experts suggest that the overall pre-release excitement is still building as the countdown to the Diwali release continues. For Ranbir Kapoor, this marks the sixth-largest opening of his career in terms of advance bookings, indicating a promising start as the film gears up for its theatrical release.
