Mumbai: The initial teaser for the highly anticipated film 'Ramayana,' featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, was revealed on Thursday. This first look hints at a grand cinematic experience. The film's visuals are predominantly enhanced by CGI, crafted with finesse by Prime Focus and the Oscar-winning DNEG, known for their work on 'Dune.'
The cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Raavan, and Sai Pallavi portraying Goddess Sita. Additionally, Sunny Deol takes on the role of Lord Hanuman, while Ravie Dubey plays Laxman.
In an unprecedented collaboration, two musical legends, Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman, both Academy Award winners, are contributing their talents to the film's score.
The film's promotional launch reached audiences worldwide, featuring fan screenings in nine Indian cities and a stunning billboard display in Times Square, New York.
Set 5,000 years in the past, 'Ramayana' is cherished by 2.5 billion people globally. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, with Yash as co-producer, the film aims to create a cinematic universe that honors Indian culture while appealing to a global audience.

'Ramayana' is envisioned as a two-part live-action cinematic experience, crafted on a scale comparable to the largest productions ever made. The film brings together celebrated talents from both Hollywood and India in an unprecedented partnership.

The film will also feature top stunt directors from Hollywood, including Terry Notary (known for 'Avengers' and 'Planet of the Apes') and Guy Norris ('Mad Max: Fury Road' and 'Furiosa'), who will choreograph the epic confrontations between gods and demons. The visual splendor of ancient India is being reimagined by acclaimed production designers Ravi Bansal ('Dune 2' and 'Aladdin') and Ramsey Avery ('Captain America' and 'Tomorrowland').
'Ramayana' is being filmed in IMAX format and is set for a global release, with Part 1 scheduled for Diwali 2026 and Part 2 for Diwali 2027.
