What to Expect from Samay Raina's Upcoming Comedy Special 'Still Alive'?
Samay Raina Returns with a New Comedy Special
Mumbai: Comedian Samay Raina is set to make a comeback with his latest comedy special titled ‘Still Alive’. The trailer for this much-anticipated show was released on Sunday.
This special showcases Raina's journey in an authentic and unfiltered manner. It’s not merely a performance about overcoming a scandal; rather, it reflects his commitment to being true to himself—witty, incisive, and humorously dark when necessary.
The special follows a year after a significant controversy that arose during his time on ‘India's Got Talent’, which led to considerable backlash and legal challenges. The issue began with a comment from podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, causing the episode to go viral and resulting in multiple FIRs, inquiries from the National Commission for Women, and even a Supreme Court intervention. Raina subsequently removed all related episodes from YouTube and fully cooperated with the authorities, including undergoing a six-hour interrogation by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell in Navi Mumbai.
In August 2025, he made his return to the stage with the 'Still Alive & Unfiltered India' tour, which kicked off in Bengaluru and at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi's Talkatora Stadium. The tour expanded internationally, reaching Europe, Australia, and North America, where he became one of the youngest Indian comedians to perform at Madison Square Garden.
This upcoming special is being hailed as Raina's most intimate performance yet, combining observational humor with a level of self-awareness that comes from facing adversity. The boy from Jammu, a Kashmiri Pandit who gained fame by teaching chess during the pandemic, has now reached the pinnacle of the comedy world.
Fans can look forward to the premiere of this comedy special on YouTube on April 8, 2026.
