Mumbai: On Wednesday, Aamir Khan announced the upcoming film Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, a unique spy comedy that marks the directorial debut of Vir Das, who is also starring in the film alongside Mona Singh.
Set to hit theaters on January 16, 2026, the film was introduced through a lighthearted announcement video featuring Khan himself, shared by Aamir Khan Productions.
In the video, Khan humorously interrogates Das about his unconventional methods in action, romance, and even an item number, juxtaposed with audience reactions praising the film.
The studio teased, “From ‘Kya BANAYA’ to ‘KYA BANAYA’. Prepare for a thrilling mix of comedy, action, romance, and some espionage in ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’, exclusively in theaters from January 16, 2026.”
Vir Das, known for his global stand-up performances and roles in films like Go Goa Gone, Badmaash Company, and Delhi Belly, is reuniting with Aamir Khan Productions for the second time, following their successful collaboration on the 2011 film Delhi Belly.
