An older clip featuring her remarks after returning to India post her Miss Universe win has gained traction online.

In this footage, she stated, “Organizing your wardrobe and maintaining your physique through rigorous workouts and gym sessions is essential. However, I must admit, I didn’t focus solely on these aspects.”

She elaborated, “At that time, I concentrated on my mental strength. It requires immense confidence, patience, and resilience to stand among so many stunning contestants and perform in front of a large audience while remaining true to oneself. That’s where I invested my efforts.”

Sushmita Sen made history by winning the Miss Universe title in 1994, becoming the first Indian to achieve this honor. She had previously secured the Femina Miss India 1994 title, outperforming Aishwarya Rai.

During the Miss Universe pageant, she successfully navigated through various preliminary rounds, including the swimsuit and evening gown segments, ultimately reaching the finals. In the final question segment, she was asked to define the essence of womanhood.

Her answer highlighted the importance of motherhood, compassion, and strength. She was crowned by the outgoing Miss Universe, Dayanara Torres from Puerto Rico.
