Neena Gupta Shares Her Experience Filming with Anurag Basu

Mumbai: Renowned actress Neena Gupta, who is making her debut collaboration with director Anurag Basu in the upcoming film ‘Metro… In Dino’, recounted a memorable moment from the film's set when she was prepared to shoot but was instructed to return to her van.

In an interview leading up to the film's release, Neena praised Anurag for his instinctive and insightful approach, noting that he is full of creative ideas right up until the moment of filming.

She recounted, “When we arrived on set, the production team asked us to wait in our van for a bit. I noticed Anurag sitting in a corner, deep in thought. I inquired about him, and the assistant mentioned, ‘He wants to think.’ It was amusing to see him so focused on his thoughts.”

Neena elaborated on Anurag's unique working style, explaining that he often improvises during filming. “We would rehearse our lines, and after a couple of takes, he might suggest, ‘Neena, let’s try it this way or that way.’ I would think, ‘What a brilliant idea! Why didn’t I think of that?’ It was a dream come true for me when he invited me to be part of this project. I told him, ‘I don’t need to know anything else; I just want to work with you.’ It’s truly enjoyable collaborating with him,” she shared.

Produced by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in partnership with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt. Ltd., ‘Metro In Dino’ is set to hit theaters on July 4, 2025.
