What Led to Yo Yo Honey Singh's Summons by Maharashtra Cyber Cell?
Yo Yo Honey Singh Faces Investigation
In Mumbai, renowned rapper and music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh was called in for questioning by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Monday. Unfortunately, he did not show up as requested.
According to the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, Singh was notified to appear in person before the investigating officer to provide his statement. However, he has requested additional time to comply with this summons.
This situation arose following a controversial statement made by Singh during a concert in Delhi, where he allegedly made inappropriate comments. A complaint was subsequently lodged against him with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, prompting the ongoing investigation.
Earlier this year, a clip of Honey Singh went viral, where he appeared to make a lewd suggestion about sexual activities in cars, which sparked outrage among social media users.
In response to the backlash, he later issued an apology via social media, addressing the controversy surrounding his remarks.
In his video, he stated, “A video of mine has been going viral on Instagram since morning, edited in a way that’s offended many people. I want to tell you the whole story. My intention was never to hurt, insult, or offend anyone.”
He further explained, “A few days prior to the incident, I had interactions with a leading gynaecologist and sexologist who shared about the rising concerns of sexually transmitted diseases among the younger generation due to unprotected sex. This conversation stayed with me. While being a guest at the show of Nanku and Karun, and seeing a large number of Gen Z in the audience, I tried to convey a message about the importance of protection in a language which they would refer to which is used in OTT they watch.”
