Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola, a popular pair in the television industry, have made the decision to part ways. During her appearance on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, Akanksha shocked viewers by announcing their divorce. She disclosed that the couple has been living separately for the past year and is now officially pursuing divorce. The hosts, Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan, were visibly surprised by this revelation. This was the first time Akanksha publicly discussed her separation. Following her announcement on the Netflix show, her previous remarks about motherhood and children have resurfaced on social media.

Akanksha Chamola's Stance on Motherhood

In a previous season of Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav had asked celebrity astrologer Jai Madaan about the possibility of having children with Akanksha. The astrologer suggested that she was seriously considering it. However, once inside the BB 19 house, Akanksha clarified that she did not feel the need to become a mother. During a conversation with Pranit More and Malti Chahar, she stated, "Future me bhi mujhe difficult lag raha hai. Mujhe nahi aa raha hai andar se, I don’t feel the need to have a kid." She elaborated that she had multiple reasons for her decision, saying, "Mujhe lagta hai jab aap itne saare reasons dhundte ho, then you are not ready."

While she acknowledged that she wasn't afraid of parenthood, Akanksha expressed, "Baccha paida karna halwa banana nahi hota hai." She emphasized that it is a major responsibility and doubted her ability to fulfill that role adequately. Furthermore, she mentioned her desire to focus on her career and pursue her ambitions.

Gaurav's Perspective on Akanksha's Decision

In a prior interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gaurav shared his thoughts on Akanksha's choice not to have children, stating that he respects her decision. The actor, who is set to appear in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, noted that they had been married for nine years, yet Akanksha did not wish to have children. He emphasized that one cannot pressure a woman into motherhood if she is not ready.

Gaurav and Akanksha tied the knot on November 24, 2016, celebrating their marriage with a three-day ceremony in Kanpur, Gaurav's hometown. Now, nearly a decade later, they have opted for a legal separation.
