A New Chapter in Kids' Entertainment

Warner Bros. Discovery is ramping up its efforts in the Indian children's entertainment market with an exciting lineup scheduled for Summer 2026. This initiative represents the company's largest commitment to local content thus far. The plan includes launching two original homegrown intellectual properties (IPs) under its popular brands, POGO and Cartoon Network, featuring over 200 new episodes across three children's channels. This move aims to broaden their portfolio by investing in local talent and developing original IPs.

During the unveiling of the new IPs and the 2026 programming slate, Sai Abishek, who leads Factual Entertainment for Lifestyle Kids in South Asia, highlighted the company's dedication to crafting immersive experiences. He remarked, "At Warner Bros. Discovery, we don’t just create shows - we construct worlds." The upcoming series, Sampat Champat on POGO and Kian Kiki on Cartoon Network, are designed with a franchise-oriented approach, intending to connect with audiences both locally and internationally.

Sampat Champat, premiering on POGO, reinterprets a cherished comic duo from India's Lotpot Comics. This animated series chronicles the escapades of Sampat and Champat, two lovable, clumsy thieves, bringing their narrative to life in a colorful animated realm filled with humor and charm. On the other hand, Kian Kiki, debuting on Cartoon Network, is an innovative series that revolves around a family of magicians, merging fantasy and comedy while delving into sibling dynamics.

This summer also signifies a notable shift in the programming strategy for the WBD Kids portfolio in India. For the first time, iconic characters Chhota Bheem and Little Singham will share an anime-inspired universe, revealing their origins and embarking on new adventures. The summer festivities will also commemorate Chhota Bheem's 18th birthday with special telefeatures and the introduction of the "Origin of Bheem" specials.

Beyond television, the WBD India Kids Network is set to launch engaging summer campaigns across 14 major cities, featuring live mascot interactions and social media initiatives. These efforts aim to enhance fan involvement and turn viewers into active participants in the summer celebrations. With a comprehensive marketing strategy and collaborative partnerships, this summer is poised to be an unforgettable experience for children and families alike.
