Wamiqa Gabbi Reflects on Surreal Journey with Dharma Productions
Wamiqa Gabbi's Exciting New Venture
Mumbai, Dec 17: Bollywood star Wamiqa Gabbi is set to feature in an upcoming film produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, describing the opportunity as a surreal experience that feels like a dream from her childhood coming to life.
Wamiqa expressed her excitement, stating, “It feels surreal. I grew up watching these films, and being part of this world now brings me immense joy.”
Her connection to the production company runs deeper than just its name; it evokes fond memories of her childhood spent watching Hindi cinema.
“Dharma films, YRF, and the works of Sanjay Leela Bhansali were integral to my upbringing. Those movies influenced my perception of cinema,” she noted.
“Thus, working with Dharma Productions is truly surreal,” she added.
Wamiqa further shared, “It’s nostalgic and emotional, and honestly, it’s pure joy. I’m thrilled to see myself in that cinematic universe. There’s always a unique Dharma essence that resonates when you watch their films.”
On her recent projects, Wamiqa was last seen in the fantasy romantic comedy, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directed by Karan Sharma, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Seema Pahwa.
She is also part of the much-anticipated sequel, "Pati Patni Aur Woh 2", alongside Ayushmaan Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, this film is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 4, 2026, coinciding with Holi.
Additionally, Wamiqa has several other projects lined up, including "Bhooth Bangla", "Kuku Ki Kundali", "Tiki Taka", and "Goodachari 2".
“Bhoot Bangla” is directed by Priyadarshan and reunites the legendary trio of Priyadarshan, Akshay Kumar, and Paresh Rawal. The film will also feature Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, and Mithila Palkar in significant roles.
This project is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms in partnership with Akshay Kumar's Cape of Good Films, with co-production by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali.
The screenplay is crafted by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair, and Priyadarshan, while the dialogues are written by Rohan Shankar.
