Title Change Announcement

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has revealed a significant title change for his forthcoming movie. Initially named The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter, the film will now be known as The Bengal Files: Right to Life.

Agnihotri took to X (formerly Twitter) to unveil the new poster and stated,

“BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: The Delhi Files is now The Bengal Files. Teaser coming this Thursday, 12 June 2025 at 12 PM. In cinemas on 05 September 2025.”

In an interview with a media outlet, Agnihotri elaborated on the reasons for the title change, stating, “The primary reason is that the film focuses on Bengal. Initially, we intended to create a two-part series, with one film titled Delhi Files and the other centered around the Bengal chapter.”

He continued, “However, as feedback poured in, many urged me to adopt the title The Bengal Files. After conducting a poll where 99 participants supported the change, I realized it was best to adapt. Now, it aligns better with the film's content.”

Agnihotri also mentioned that the sequel will undergo a title modification, saying, “We will need to rename the second part as well, but that will be addressed after the first chapter's release.”

The Bengal Files: Right to Life is anticipated to explore sensitive historical and political issues, including the Hindu genocide and the political ramifications of decisions made in 1940s Bengal.

Directed by Agnihotri and co-produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi, the film features notable actors such as Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, and Govind Namdev. It is set to hit theaters on September 5, 2025.
