In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Vivek Agnihotri expressed his admiration for Dhurandhar: The Revenge and its creative team. He even traveled from California to Los Angeles specifically to view the film, showcasing his high regard for the project. He described the film as 'brilliant once again' and chose not to overanalyze it, stating that the film speaks for itself and he would 'rather call' Dhar.
However, Agnihotri went beyond mere compliments, shining a light on two frequently undervalued elements of filmmaking: cinematography and production design. He praised cinematographer Vikash Nowlakha and production designer Saini S Johray for their 'world-class' and 'groundbreaking' contributions. According to him, the collaboration between these two crafts transformed Dhurandhar 2 into a cinematic masterpiece, setting a new standard for future films. He emphasized that for cinema to achieve greatness, the camera and production design must work in perfect harmony, a balance that Dhurandhar 2 executed flawlessly. The film has outperformed the lifetime earnings of its predecessor, Dhurandhar, in just 11 days. It has also surpassed the record set by Baahubali 2 to become the highest-grossing film in North America.
Recent trade reports indicate that the film has generated an impressive Rs 846.87 crore in India alone. This achievement has allowed it to surpass the Hindi version record of Pushpa 2, which was Rs 812 crore. Additionally, it has exceeded the original Dhurandhar’s lifetime domestic collection of Rs 840.20 crore, which was released in December 2025. With both critical acclaim and commercial success, Dhurandhar 2 has established itself as one of the biggest hits in recent times.
