Star batter Virat Kohli of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru expressed his admiration after viewing the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, also known as Dhurandhar 2, during the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
This sequel to the Dhurandhar series is an action-packed drama that continues its revenge narrative, featuring powerful storytelling and emotional depth, with Ranveer Singh in the lead role, directed by Aditya Dhar. The film has already surpassed INR 1,600 crore in global box office earnings, including a net collection of INR 1,023 crore in India, establishing it as the year's blockbuster.
The first part of the franchise reportedly earned over INR 1,300 crore, with INR 840 crore coming from India. Collectively, the Dhurandhar series has grossed over INR 2,900 crore worldwide, solidifying its status as one of the most successful film franchises in Indian cinema.
Kohli's Captivating Experience
Following the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's victory against Chennai Super Kings, Kohli and his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, watched Dhurandhar 2. Kohli was captivated by the film's engaging storyline, describing it as a 'cinematic experience that held his attention completely.'
He praised director Aditya Dhar for his exceptional talent and dedication, which was evident in the film's execution. Kohli shared on his Instagram story, 'I haven't experienced a cinematic journey like this in India. It evoked every emotion, and I didn't flinch once for nearly four hours.'
He further acknowledged Dhar's brilliance, stating, '@adityadharfilms, your skill and commitment shine through in your work. Hats off to you; you're a genius.'

Kohli also lauded Ranveer Singh's acting, calling it 'beyond brilliant' and noting that Singh has reached new heights with this film, even among a talented ensemble cast.
