At the Chennai airport the following day, Rajinikanth chose to remain silent when asked about Vijay's swearing-in, simply smiling and walking away. However, he had previously congratulated Vijay on social media, stating, "My congratulations to Thiru Vijay, President of the victorious Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, on their impressive win in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections."
