On March 20, the South Cyber Police Station of the Mumbai crime branch initiated a case following a complaint from Rajat Rahul Haksar, CEO of August Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., an anti-piracy agency representing Maddock Films Pvt. Ltd.
The complaint addresses the illegal distribution of the Hindi film Chhaava, which was unlawfully made available on multiple digital platforms.
Released on February 14, 2025, Chhaava faced piracy issues. The complainant noted that the film was illegally disseminated through an astonishing 1,818 internet links, violating copyright laws and significantly undermining its legitimate theatrical release.
