A Special Bond Beyond Gifts

For actor Vibhav Roy, Mother's Day is more than just lavish presents or social media posts; it represents deep conversations and unwavering love. He expresses, "My mom is not merely a support system; she is my entire existence." Vibhav highlights that his day revolves around discussions with her, where he shares his emotional battles, mental health issues, romantic dilemmas, and career challenges. "She is aware of every aspect of my life," he notes, showcasing the strength of their bond.

Identifying proudly as a "mama's boy," Vibhav states, "I embrace being a mama's boy wholeheartedly, and I view it as one of my greatest gifts." He considers his mother the ultimate confidante, pointing out that no one else is as invested in his joy and achievements as she is. "In many respects, she has a greater interest in my happiness and success than I do," he reflects, affirming that a mother's love is unmatched.

As he reflects on his childhood Mother's Day customs, Vibhav feels a wave of nostalgia. "One of my most cherished memories from Mother's Day as a child is our yearly family lunch, which included three generations—my grandmother, my mom, my sister, and me," he reminisces. He recalls how his older sister often took on a nurturing role while their mother worked, allowing him to grow up enveloped in love from both women and their grandmother.

Food was a significant part of these family gatherings, with Vibhav fondly recalling their outings to savor South Indian dishes. "My grandmother had a particular fondness for South Indian cuisine, so I remember our visits to Sagar Ratna for dosas and idlis. Those lunches were simple, warm, and filled with love, making them some of my most treasured childhood moments," he shares.

Although a busy shooting schedule will keep him away from home this Mother's Day, Vibhav remains hopeful. "This year, I’ll be working on Mother's Day, so I won’t be able to celebrate with my mom in person. However, that doesn’t change much since we stay in touch constantly," he explains. They plan to connect via FaceTime, underscoring that their relationship thrives on connection rather than extravagant displays. "For us, it’s never about grand gestures. Our bond is rooted in conversation and connection," he concludes, expressing gratitude for his mother's significant impact on his life.
