Tragic Loss in the South Film Industry
The South Indian film community was struck by sorrow on Saturday, June 27, as the esteemed actor and director K Bhagyaraj passed away due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 73. Just a day prior to his unexpected death, he had been seen celebrating at the wedding of Khushbu Sundar's daughter. Following the announcement of his passing, fans and media flocked to his home, where his body was brought a few hours later. Actress Radikaa Sarathkumar was present to support Bhagyaraj's family during this challenging time, accompanying them in the ambulance. However, she made a heartfelt plea for privacy amidst the overwhelming media presence.
Radikaa Sarathkumar's Emotional Plea for Privacy
As K Bhagyaraj's body was returned home from the hospital, a significant crowd gathered outside. In an emotional moment, Radikaa urged the media to respect their privacy as they navigated this difficult period. She expressed, "I kindly request all the press here to understand that while cinema is our profession, we are human beings too. If you seek drama for TRP ratings, I can provide that through my films. But here, we ask for some privacy, please."
Bhagyaraj and Radikaa had collaborated on several notable films, including Indru Poi Naalai Vaa and Bhama Rukmini. Numerous figures from the Tamil film industry came to pay their respects at the late actor's home. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay was also seen offering his condolences to Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, embracing him during this time of grief. Renowned actors such as Rajinikanth and Nassar, along with many others, were present to bid farewell to Bhagyaraj.

His filmography includes several iconic titles such as Mundhanai Mudichu, Andha 7 Naatkal, Oru Kai Osai, Chinna Veedu, Darling, Darling, Darling, Enga Chinna Rasa, Mouna Geethangal, Dhavani Kanavugal, Suvarilladha Chiththirangal, and Avasara Police 100. Bhagyaraj is survived by his wife, actress Poornima Jayaram, and their two children, Saranya Bhagyaraj and Tamil actor Shanthnu Bhagyaraj.
