Mumbai, Sep 16: Actor Varun Dhawan has expressed his worries regarding the deteriorating quality of soil and the depletion of natural nutrients following a recent visit to his newly purchased farmland.

During his visit, the 'Student of the Year' star learned from local farmers about the increasing reliance on chemicals and the concerning state of nutrient-deficient soil. He shared his thoughts in an exclusive statement, revealing that this issue has been causing him significant distress.

Varun stated, “When I visited my farm, the farmers informed me that the soil today lacks the natural nutrients that were once abundant. The seeds are also missing essential nutrients like zinc and magnesium. The chemicals are impacting everything.”

He further added, “Unfortunately, this is what we are all consuming, and it’s quite alarming. It has been troubling me, and I am eager to learn from those involved in agriculture about potential solutions. How can we address this issue?”

Previously, the actor shared a glimpse of his farmland along with a heartfelt message, expressing his excitement about engaging in farming.

In August, Varun announced his purchase of a farm through a video on Instagram, where he was seen enjoying tea and biscuits at the property. He captioned the video, “I bought a farm.” In the clip, he exclaimed, “I want to share some news with you. This is the biggest achievement of my life. I have taken this farm, and don’t ask me why, but just standing here with my chai and biscuit in this weather is unbelievable.”

On the professional front, Varun Dhawan was last featured in “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,” which marked a reunion with his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, after a significant hiatus. The film, which also starred Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, was released in theaters on June 5.
