In a candid conversation on Be A Man, Yaar!, Varun explained that DDH is a condition where the hip slips out of its socket, resulting in one leg being shorter than the other, which can lead to an uneven gait. He noted that while Western countries have advanced treatments for DDH, awareness and resources in India are limited. Fortunately, with skilled medical professionals and facilities available, the condition is treatable.
Varun shared that thanks to timely intervention and appropriate care, surgery was not necessary for Lara. Instead, she had to wear a spica cast for two and a half months after a procedure to reposition her hip. He described the experience as 'extremely difficult,' expressing a desire to write a book about it. Varun emphasized the importance of parents monitoring their children's growth and consulting pediatricians if they notice any developmental concerns.
