Varun Dhawan Calls Rakhi Sawant a Pop Culture Icon on Tanmay Bhat's Show
Varun Dhawan Praises Rakhi Sawant's Cultural Impact
Mumbai: Varun Dhawan, a prominent actor in the Hindi film industry, recently expressed his admiration for Rakhi Sawant during an appearance on comedian Tanmay Bhat's show. He referred to her as an icon who has firmly established herself in pop culture.
In a segment of the show, Varun and other guests viewed a meme that depicted an installation at a music concert resembling Rakhi Sawant.
He remarked, “She’s now a part of pop culture. I genuinely believe she’s an icon. Many people have tried to emulate her, but there’s only one Rakhi Sawant.”
Additionally, Varun shared a humorous anecdote about how his father, David Dhawan, once roasted him. The director had intended to incorporate a joke about Varun into one of his films but ultimately decided against it.
When questioned about the possibility of being trolled for his smile, Varun admitted, “I didn’t expect it to be about my smile. I thought there were other aspects, like my voice, that would attract jokes. My brother used to tease me about sounding like an 8-year-old girl when I started my career.”
Despite the teasing, Varun took it in stride, stating, “Eventually, I found it amusing. The jokes became funny to me, especially the one about the biscuit.”
He also shared how his father had a comedic idea involving Varun's smile for a scene in his upcoming film. Varun recalled, “There was a scene where my kids would have the same smile as mine. I questioned why he wanted to do that, and he insisted it would make people laugh.”
