India's U-19 Cricket Team Excels in England
The Indian Under-19 cricket team is currently touring England, where they are impressively competing against the host nation's U-19 squad in a five-match youth ODI series. Among the standout performers is 14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has been making headlines with his remarkable batting skills. In the fourth ODI of the series, Vaibhav scored a blistering century with a strike rate exceeding 190, capturing everyone's attention. So far, he has crossed the 40-run mark in every match of this series.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Sets Record for Fastest Century
During the fourth youth ODI held at New Road in Worcester, Vaibhav showcased his talent brilliantly. He started the match with aggressive scoring, hitting numerous sixes and fours that left the English bowlers helpless. He reached his century in just 52 balls, which included 10 fours and 7 sixes, making him the fastest century scorer in youth ODI cricket history. No player had previously achieved such a rapid century in this format.
Earlier, on July 2, in the third ODI played in Northampton, Vaibhav also delivered an explosive performance, scoring 86 runs off just 31 balls, featuring nine sixes and six fours. His innings helped India chase down a target of 269 runs in just 34.3 overs during a rain-affected 40-over match, giving the Indian U-19 team a 2-1 lead in the series and earning him the 'Player of the Match' award.
Consistent Performance from Vaibhav
Vaibhav Suryavanshi's tour has been nothing short of spectacular. He has consistently scored runs in every innings during this series. In the first match, he made 48 runs, followed by 45 runs in the second match, and then his explosive 86 runs, culminating in his recent century.
