Urvashi Dholakia, a well-known television actress recognized for her candid nature, has expressed her deep concerns regarding the ongoing late-night construction activities in the Juhu locality of Mumbai. She described the situation as a "midnight horror" for the local residents. Taking to social media, she shared an open letter that addressed the disturbances caused by construction work allegedly linked to a property owned by Asit Kumar Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

In her posts, she included videos showcasing the late-night construction noise. She stated, “THE HORRORS OF JUHU LATE NIGHT CONSTRUCTION WORK. Subject: Open Letter Regarding Ongoing Late-Night Construction. I am writing this open letter to express my serious concerns about the ongoing late-night construction activities in our area, which have been causing significant disturbance to residents.”
She elaborated that the construction has been ongoing for several days, often extending well past acceptable hours. The incessant noise from machinery, drilling, and the movement of materials has severely disrupted residents' ability to rest, impacting their sleep, health, and overall well-being. "This property where the construction is occurring is currently owned by Mr. Asit Modi @officialasitkummarmodi and his family,” she noted. Urvashi urged the authorities to take action, stating, “I call upon the relevant authorities and builders to take immediate steps to: • Strictly follow permitted construction hours • Reduce noise pollution during early mornings and late nights • Respect residents’ right to peace and rest.”
Urvashi Dholakia Questions Police Response
The actress also recounted her experience of waiting for police assistance. "I would like to mention that I called the police emergency number (100) at 4:23 AM and made three calls until 4:55 AM, hoping they would address the issue. I waited outside my building until 5:08 AM, but no one arrived!" She questioned how she would have fared if she had been in a real emergency.
Urvashi emphasized that this situation transcends mere inconvenience; it pertains to fundamental living conditions. Families with children, elderly residents, and working individuals are all adversely affected by the lack of consideration and adherence to regulations.
