Chennai, Sep 30: The production team behind the action-packed film 'Makkal Kavalan', directed by Santhosh Kumar and starring the rapidly rising Tamil actor K Manikandan, has officially revealed that the movie will be released globally on December 4 of this year.
This announcement coincided with actor Manikandan's birthday, made public by Birla Studios and Neelam Studios, the joint producers of the film.
Fans and cinema enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement as the actor has recently enjoyed a series of commercial hits, including 'Good Night', 'Lover', and 'Kudumbasthan'. His consistent success has solidified his reputation as one of the most reliable and in-demand leading actors in Tamil cinema.
'Makkal Kavalan' marks Manikandan's debut as the lead in an action drama.
The film, penned and helmed by Santhosh Kumar, narrates the journey of an ordinary man striving to maintain his dignity until a corrupt system forces him into a corner, presenting him with two stark choices: to yield or to fight back. What starts as a personal struggle for survival evolves into a larger movement, compelling him to take on a leadership role he never anticipated. As the conflict escalates, the stakes of resistance rise, blurring the lines between an everyday individual and a protector of the people.
Central to the narrative is the theme of a man who refuses to let his origins or societal barriers dictate the extent of his aspirations. It’s a tale of daring to dream beyond the constraints set by society and the relentless pursuit of those dreams until they become reality.
In addition to Manikandan, the cast includes Vaagai Chandrasekar, A Venkatesh, R.K. Vijaymurugan, Shanmugam Muthusamy, Sabumon, Unni Maya, Divya Sripada, Jenson Dhivakar, Lallu, Gemini Mani, and Raghu, among others.
