This film aims to deliver a theatrical experience rooted in faith and simplicity, honoring the essence of the original narrative.

Directed by Bhavna Talwar, the project assembles a talented group of creatives dedicated to authentically portraying the epic with emotional resonance. The visual design is led by the esteemed production designer Sabu Cyril, while the screenplay is crafted by celebrated author Anand Neelakantan, who draws inspiration directly from the original Valmiki Ramayana.

Enhancing the film's creative vision, veteran cinematographer Binod Pradhan contributes his renowned visual storytelling expertise, and Academy Award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty oversees the film's auditory landscape. Additionally, filmmaker and scholar Chandraprakash Dwivedi serves as a Creative Consultant and dialogue writer, bringing his profound knowledge of Indian history and mythology to the project.

The film adopts a restrained and respectful approach, emphasizing the spiritual and emotional essence of the epic rather than relying solely on visual spectacle. The creators aspire to present Valmiki Ramayana as a sincere cinematic journey that resonates with audiences of all ages.

Scheduled for theatrical release on October 2, the Valmiki Ramayana stands as one of the earliest Sanskrit epics and a cornerstone of Indian literature. Composed approximately between 500–100 BCE, it comprises around 24,000 verses divided into seven books.

The story chronicles the life of Lord Ram, the prince of Ayodhya, detailing his exile, the kidnapping of his wife Sita by Ravana, and her eventual rescue with the aid of allies like Hanuman. The text explores themes of kingship, duty (dharma), familial responsibilities, and moral conduct.

Moreover, it offers early frameworks of political authority and societal structure. The Valmiki Ramayana presents a distinct tone and detail compared to later adaptations, serving as the foundational source for various regional and cultural retellings throughout South and Southeast Asia.
