Niharika Chouksey's Journey in Television

Niharika Chouksey, recognized for her performance in the TV show "Tumm Se Tumm Tak," has evolved from a promising newcomer to a thoughtful leading actress. She attributes this growth to her experiences, introspection, and the dynamic nature of television, which has sharpened her acting instincts. Reflecting on her earlier role in "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai," Chouksey remarked, "Honestly, I didn’t realize my full potential... until you headline a show as the lead, you don’t get the opportunity to portray a wide range of emotions." She acknowledged that her part in that series was minor and that she was quite young at that time.

Her later work on "Faltu" helped her gain a deeper understanding of her strengths and weaknesses as an actress. She expressed, "Now, after projects like 'Aaina' and 'Tumse Na Ho Payega,' I’ve realized acting is a craft that only improves with time. The more you learn, the better you perform." This perspective highlights her dedication to evolving in her craft as she faces the challenges of the television industry.

The fast-paced nature of television has made Chouksey quick and adaptable, yet she values the depth that film projects can provide. "The demanding nature of television makes an actor incredibly spontaneous and quick," she noted. "That said, I would definitely prefer a film schedule because it gives you more time to act, better opportunities, and more room for preparation." She emphasized the rigorous pace of television, which necessitates a significant amount of content in a short time frame, stating, "Television is truly the best school to prepare you for future projects."

When it comes to expressing intense emotions, Chouksey has learned to safeguard her mental health while still delivering impactful performances. "I used to feel incredibly down before heavy emotional scenes, but now I’ve learned the art of switching on and off," she shared. As a television heroine, performing numerous emotional scenes requires balance, and she often requests her director to play emotional songs to aid in that transition.

Chouksey thrives in a collaborative setting, surrounded by mentors who trust her instincts. Currently collaborating with director Yusuf and actor Sharad, she values the creative freedom she receives. "Yusuf, sir, gives me a lot of creative freedom. He asks me to perform a scene the way I see it and offers to step in only if needed," she stated. This supportive environment, she believes, allows her to excel as an actress and enhances her craft.
