The production of Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 faced delays over the past couple of years due to contractual disputes between Colors TV and Banijay Asia. The announcement for the new season was made during Bigg Boss 19, confirming that it would air on Colors TV. The show originally premiered in 2008 with Akshay Kumar as the host for the first two seasons, followed by Priyanka Chopra for the third season filmed in Brazil. Akshay Kumar returned for the fourth season, and Rohit Shetty has been the consistent host since the fifth season.
