Trisha Krishnan has had an enchanting May, which she recently highlighted on social media by sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses from her film Karuppu. The movie has achieved remarkable success at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026. Directed by RJ Balaji, Trisha plays the role of a lawyer named Preethy, marking a reunion with Suriya, her co-star from previous hits like Mounam Pesiyadhe and Aaru. Fans have praised their collaboration, noting the nostalgic appeal it brings to the film. Despite a delayed release, Karuppu is thriving at the box office.

Trisha's Special Moments from Karuppu: What Makes May Significant?

On her social media, Trisha shared a collection of exclusive images from the Karuppu sets. One photo captured her engaging with Suriya and RJ Balaji, while another showcased her in a green saree, dancing to a film song. She also posted candid shots of herself enjoying tea during breaks. Her caption read, “My magical May said, one more for the win. Just God things #Karuppu,” tagging Suriya, RJ Balaji, and cinematographer GK Vishnu, along with some evil-eye emojis.

The film's release coincided with Joseph Vijay's political achievements with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which interestingly aligned with Trisha's birthday on May 4. Many celebrities, including Lakshmi Manchu and Charmme Kaur, sent birthday wishes that subtly acknowledged Vijay’s political success as a special gift for Trisha.

Karuppu is Trisha's first significant release this year and the first Tamil film to debut after Thalapathy Vijay took office as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The filmmakers even secured permission from him to host special 9 am screenings. Although the film's release was postponed from May 14 to May 15, this delay did not hinder its box office success. By May 20, Karuppu had amassed impressive domestic and international earnings, grossing Rs 161.04 crore worldwide within just five days.

Meeting with Tamil Nadu CM Vijay

The Karuppu team had the opportunity to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay at his office, later sharing a photo on the film's official X (formerly Twitter) account. They expressed their joy at receiving heartfelt wishes from the Chief Minister and congratulated producer S R Prabhu on the film's success.

In addition to Suriya and Trisha, Karuppu boasts a talented supporting cast, including Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, and Supreeth Reddy.
