Sam Neill, renowned for his portrayal of Dr. Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park series, has sadly passed away at the age of 78. His death occurred in Australia, where he was surrounded by loved ones. Neill first gained fame for his role as Damien Thorn in Omen III: The Final Conflict, part of The Omen franchise. Following the news of his passing, numerous fans and colleagues from the entertainment industry expressed their sorrow on social media. Among them was fellow New Zealander Karl Urban, who shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, stating, “Heartfelt condolences to your whanau. Sam was truly brilliant. An inspiration for many who followed in his trailblazing footsteps.” Urban described Neill as “A beautiful man” and “A national treasure who gave so much to New Zealand and the world,” concluding with, “God speed Sam,” accompanied by a heart emoji.

Sam Neill made his film debut in Roger Donaldson's Sleeping Dogs (1977) before relocating to Australia to explore more acting opportunities.
