Shooting Incident in Covo, Italy

Rome: In a tragic incident, two Indian nationals were fatally shot in Covo, located in the Bergamo province of Italy, as they exited a warehouse serving as a place of worship during a Vaisakhi festival gathering, according to local news reports on Sunday.

The shooting took place just before midnight on Friday in front of the Gurdwara Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, situated in the town's industrial area, as reported by La Sicilia.

The victims have been named as Raginder Singh, 48, a local resident, and Gurmit Singh, 48, hailing from Agnadello.

Witnesses claim that the assailant approached the two men, opened fire, and then escaped in a vehicle.

Initial investigations suggest that the incident was not the result of a sudden altercation, as authorities are exploring the possibility of a "coldly planned execution."

Around ten shell casings were found at the crime scene, prompting further inquiries.

A witness mentioned to reporters that the shooter was "an Indian" who was known to visit the gurdwara regularly.

Additionally, it was reported that a third individual was grazed by the bullets during the attack.

An official Vaisakhi celebration was scheduled for the following day nearby, with participation from local institutions.
