What Happened?

On Sunday morning, Prashant fell ill suddenly at his residence in Janakpuri, Delhi.


He was rushed to a hospital in Dwarka, where he was pronounced dead by the medical staff.


While some reports mention a stroke, the majority of sources indicate that a heart attack was the primary cause of his demise.


Prior to his death, he had not reported any serious health issues and had recently returned to Delhi after a performance in Arunachal Pradesh.


Who Was Prashant Tamang?

Prashant hailed from Darjeeling, West Bengal, and belonged to the Nepali-speaking Gorkha community.


After losing his father at a young age, he left school and took a job as a constable with the Kolkata Police, where he performed in the police orchestra.


In 2007, he participated in Indian Idol Season 3 and became an overnight sensation, winning the hearts of millions across the country, especially in the northeastern and Nepali communities.


Following his victory, he released his debut album 'Dhanyabad,' featuring songs in both Hindi and Nepali.


His popular tracks include 'Bir Gorakhali' and 'Asare Mahinama,' which continue to be cherished by fans.


Recently, he played a significant role as sniper Daniel Acho in Paatal Lok Season 2, earning widespread acclaim.


He also acted in Nepali films such as Gorkha Paltan and Angalo Yo Maya Ko.


Prashant was set to collaborate with Salman Khan in the film Battle of Galwan.
