Rahul Arunoday Banerjee's Last Moments Captured


The final video of Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee has gone viral on social media following his untimely death. The 43-year-old actor tragically drowned at Talsari beach in Odisha while he was filming for his series Bholebaba Paar Karega. Reports vary on the circumstances of his drowning; some suggest he left the set to visit the beach, while others indicate he fell from a boat. Notably, Rahul was not a swimmer. After being rescued from the water, he was rushed to a hospital in Digha, where he was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for tomorrow, March 30.

A video circulating on social media shows Rahul preparing for a scene alongside a female co-star, with a crowd of onlookers present. At one point, his co-star gestures for silence, placing a finger to her lips.



Members of the Bholebaba Paar Karega crew were the first to notice Rahul in distress and transported him to a Digha hospital, arriving by 6 PM. Unfortunately, he was declared dead before receiving any medical care. The East Midnapore district police confirmed the incident, with Additional Superintendent of Police Atish Biswas stating that the cause of death was drowning. A comprehensive medical report is pending following the post-mortem.


Rahul is survived by his wife, Priyanka Sarkar, and their son, Shohoj. The couple initially met during the filming of Chirodini Tumi Je Amar. Although they separated in 2017, they reconciled in 2023 and continued to co-parent their son.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her condolences on X (formerly Twitter), sharing her shock at the news of Rahul's passing. She wrote, "Renowned, young, and popular actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee is suddenly no longer with us. Receiving this news, I am stunned, heartbroken, and grief-stricken. I cannot understand how this happened. He was one of my favorite actors and a person I greatly admired. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family, relatives, and countless fans. Rahul’s sudden departure is an irreparable loss for Bengal’s acting world, Tollywood, and Tele-Tollywood."




Bengali superstar Jeet also paid tribute to the late actor, stating, "Gone far too soon… it’s a stark reminder of how uncertain life truly is." He offered strength and prayers to Rahul's family during this difficult time.
