Sanchita Ugale Found Dead Amidst Industry Remembrance

On a day when the Hindi film and television sectors were honoring the memory of the late Sushant Singh Rajput, the news of another tragic loss reverberated throughout the country. Sanchita Ugale, a 22-year-old actress recognized for her roles in Kumkum Bhagya, Chhaava, Dilwale Dulha Le Jayegi, was discovered deceased at her home in Nalasopara, located in Maharashtra's Palghar district. Just hours prior to her untimely death, she had shared a lively reel on social media, lip-syncing to a popular song. This incident has raised alarm and prompted calls for a comprehensive investigation.

AICWA Requests Special Investigation Team for Sanchita Ugale's Case

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has reached out to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, advocating for the establishment of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the circumstances surrounding Ugale's death. In their correspondence, the association underscored the concerns voiced by the actress's family and highlighted her social media engagement shortly before her passing, urging authorities to conduct a thorough, evidence-based inquiry.

Describing Ugale as a self-made talent who attained success through dedication, AICWA emphasized the need for a meticulous investigation into her death. They noted that she had posted an Instagram Story featuring the song Dapli Wale Dapli Baja approximately 19 hours before her death was reported, suggesting that this timeline should be a focal point in the investigation.

Furthermore, AICWA pointed out that Ugale's family had expressed worries regarding the circumstances of her demise, alleging that she might have been subjected to various pressures that necessitate careful scrutiny by investigators. The association raised critical questions about the factors that may have led the young actress to take such drastic action, urging investigators to explore all potential angles without jumping to conclusions.

They also noted the significance of the date June 14, which has become a topic of public discourse due to its association with Sushant Singh Rajput's death in 2020, a case widely reported as a suicide. While they cautioned against forming conclusions without evidence, they insisted that this aspect should be part of the investigation to ensure all uncertainties are addressed through factual findings.

In their letter, AICWA also expressed alarm over the increasing instances of alleged suicides within the Indian film industry, calling on the government to implement necessary measures to tackle the root causes of such tragedies.
