Stewart McLean's Untimely Passing

Stewart McLean, known for his role in the hit series "Virgin River," sadly passed away on May 22. The circumstances surrounding his death are now being treated as a homicide, with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) investigating the matter. While the exact cause of death has not been revealed, authorities have indicated that evidence suggests McLean may have been a victim of foul play. The investigation is still active, and police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in their inquiries.

Prior to his death, McLean was last in touch with his agent on May 15, discussing plans for an upcoming shoot. Jeff Seymour, a close friend and acting coach, noted that this was the last time McLean was seen alive. Reports indicate that McLean had a normal day, finishing work at 7 PM and returning home after a four-hour drive. His last communication took place that evening, and he was unaccounted for until his remains were found a week later.

Seymour expressed alarm when McLean missed the scheduled shoot the next day, stating, "When I heard that he didn't show up for that, I knew we were in serious trouble." He highlighted how unusual it is for an actor to miss a commitment, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. Remembering McLean fondly, Seymour called for justice, insisting that those responsible for his friend's death must be held accountable.

On May 18, after McLean had not been heard from for three days, the RCMP made a public appeal for help in locating the actor. Following extensive search efforts, the investigation shifted from a missing person case to a homicide inquiry. Authorities confirmed that evidence gathered during the investigation indicated McLean was indeed a homicide victim.

McLean's remains were ultimately found in Lions Bay on May 22, marking a tragic conclusion to the search. He was well-known for his roles in "Arrow," "The 100," and "Supernatural," with his final appearance being in "Virgin River." As the investigation progresses, the community mourns the loss of a talented actor whose life ended under tragic and violent circumstances.
