Spider-Man: Brand New Day Takes India by Storm
New Delhi: The latest installment featuring Tom Holland and Zendaya, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has made a remarkable debut at the Indian box office, raking in over Rs 200 crore within its first three days.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film premiered in India on Thursday, ahead of its global launch, and is available in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, in both 2D and 3D formats.
In this film, Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, joined by Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Sadie Sink.
As reported by the trade tracking platform Sacnilk, the film grossed an impressive Rs 72.44 crore on its opening day, bringing the total earnings to Rs 215.47 crore.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues the story four years after the events of No Way Home, depicting Peter Parker's life in seclusion after erasing himself from the memories of his loved ones.
The narrative follows his struggle against a formidable new adversary while dealing with a surprising physical transformation brought on by his crime-fighting responsibilities.
This film marks the 38th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal.
Notable appearances include Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Michael Mando as Scorpion.
In addition to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland and Zendaya have recently worked together on The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan, which tells the story of the Greek King Odysseus on his treacherous journey following the Trojan War.
This film has already surpassed USD 700 million in global box office earnings.
