Tina Ahuja's Acting Journey

Tina Ahuja, the daughter of renowned actor Govinda and his spouse Sunita Ahuja, embarked on her acting career with the film Second Hand Husband in 2015. In addition to her film work, she has appeared in numerous music videos. Recently, she participated in a reality show titled Maa Hai Na, hosted by Shilpa Shetty, alongside her mother. Following the show's debut, an exclusive interview was conducted with Tina, where she shared insights about the series and her early career struggles. She expressed that being a star kid led to certain preconceived notions about her.

Reflecting on her past, Tina mentioned, "The primary challenge I encountered was the reluctance of many filmmakers and casting directors. They had preconceived notions about me, thinking I wouldn't audition or show up for a look test. There were concerns about my father, Govinda, causing issues on set, which made them hesitant to cast me."

She clarified, "However, that was not the reality. That was the only hurdle I faced, and I believe that with time, those perceptions will fade away."

As the discussion progressed, Tina shared her experience of working on Maa Hai Na with her mother. She admitted, "It was quite challenging to do this with my mom. I was completely out of my element, especially since I have little knowledge of cooking. Transitioning from behind the camera to being in front of it was a significant adjustment for me."

Initially, she felt more shocked than excited about participating in the reality show. "I never anticipated doing this alongside my mom. It was only due to my mother and Neeti-Preeti (Simoes) that I agreed to take part in this show." She also praised Shilpa Shetty, describing her as a 'kind-hearted' and sweet individual. "Having worked with Shilpa behind the scenes and with my dad on various projects, I can attest to her genuinely kind nature," Tina remarked.
