Thalapathy Vijay's Pilgrimage to Shirdi Sai Baba Temple

Actor and politician Thalapathy Vijay has recently made a pilgrimage to the revered Shirdi Sai Baba shrine, continuing his spiritual journey as the election results approach. Footage captured his departure from Chennai, arrival at the airport, and subsequent journey to Shirdi International Airport. At the temple, Vijay was observed in prayer, humbly prostrating before the sanctum of Sai Baba, dedicating time to deep devotion. This visit follows his earlier, unannounced trip to the Tiruchendur Subramania Swamy Temple, where he also engaged in prayer. His spiritual endeavors coincide with the heightened political activity surrounding the delay of his upcoming film, Jana Nayagan.

Vijay's Devotion at Shirdi Sai Baba Temple

During his time at the temple, Vijay was seen fully immersed in prayer, bowing for nearly ten seconds, showcasing his deep devotion. A video of this moment circulated widely, highlighting his spiritual commitment. He later received prasad from the temple priest, marking a serene and spiritual experience. Despite the crowd, he maintained a calm demeanor, escorted by his security team.

This visit to Shirdi follows Vijay's earlier pilgrimage to the Tiruchendur Subramania Swamy Temple in Thoothukudi, where he was honored with a shawl and a symbolic ‘Vel’, representing Lord Murugan's divine spear. The event saw a significant police presence to manage the throngs of supporters chanting his name and political slogans. The timing of these visits is particularly notable as Vijay gears up for important political events, with election results anticipated on May 4.

Challenges Surrounding Jana Nayagan's Release

On the professional front, Vijay's film Jana Nayagan continues to experience delays. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, the film boasts a star-studded cast, including Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani. Originally set for a Pongal 2026 release, the film has faced several setbacks, including delays from the censor board. Despite having over Rs 100 crore in advance bookings, the release has been postponed.

Compounding the situation, the film was recently leaked online, which distributor Tirupur Subramaniam described as a significant blow to the industry. He cautioned that producers could incur losses ranging from Rs 300 crore to Rs 400 crore due to the leak, which may impact box office earnings as well as OTT and satellite rights revenue. However, recent updates suggest that the film is now expected to release around May 8.
