The film's total gross in India reached Rs 50.28 crore, complemented by Rs 30 crore from international markets, bringing its total worldwide gross to Rs 80.28 crore. This achievement places it ninth among the largest Day 1 openings for Tamil films. The list is currently topped by Rajinikanth's Coolie, which debuted with an impressive Rs 151.7 crore globally.
Although Jana Nayagan had a robust opening, it ranks ninth in the list of biggest worldwide Day 1 openings for Tamil cinema. Rajinikanth's Coolie leads the pack, followed by Vijay's Leo (Rs 142.96 crore), 2.0 (Rs 110 crore), The Greatest Of All Time (Rs 99.39 crore), Jailer (Rs 97.05 crore), Kabali (Rs 87.5 crore), Beast (Rs 85.2 crore), and Ponniyin Selvan 1 (Rs 82.5 crore). Jana Nayagan's earnings of Rs 80.28 crore on its opening day surpassed Vettaiyan, which earned Rs 67.76 crore.

Furthermore, with an overseas gross of Rs 30 crore, it missed the opportunity to rank among the top five biggest overseas openings for Tamil films.
