Details of the Confrontation
The altercation reportedly occurred as Teyana attempted to return to the stage alongside Pam Abdi. A security guard intervened, attempting to prevent them from ascending the stairs. During this interaction, the guard allegedly used his body to obstruct Taylor and made physical contact while trying to block her path. This led to the guard pushing her away from the stage.
Teyana Taylor's Reaction
In a statement to TMZ, Teyana addressed the incident, stating, “Security was just doing a lot.” She reassured fans that she is doing well, adding, “The first thing people do is definitely make assumptions. But at the end of the day I just don’t tolerate disrespect, especially when it’s unwarranted and unprovoked.”
Security Agency's Statement
Security Industry Specialists (SIS) responded to the incident, describing it as a ‘brief interaction’ between Taylor and the guard, who was managing a crowded area to ensure guest safety. They noted that an ‘incidental contact’ led to the confrontation. “This is not the standard of professionalism we expect from our team, and we have addressed the matter internally to help ensure situations like this do not happen again,” their statement concluded.
Despite One Battle After Another winning several prestigious awards at the Oscars 2026, Teyana lost the Best Supporting Actress award to Amy Madigan for her role in Weapons.
