Overview of Jana Nayagan
About Jana Nayagan
This film, directed by H Vinoth, is reportedly a remake of the 2023 Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari. The cast features CM Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju, with notable appearances from Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani. The film's release has been stalled due to pending approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), primarily due to its portrayal of the armed forces and certain scenes that may offend religious sentiments.
Initially, there were speculations that Jana Nayagan would premiere on Thalapathy Vijay's birthday, June 22. However, it has been confirmed that the action thriller Mersal (2017), featuring Vijay alongside Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, will instead be released on that date. Directed by Atlee, Mersal showcases Vijay in a triple role as a father and his two sons, and is set for a limited theatrical re-release on June 19.
