In a recent interview, she disclosed that this traumatic experience significantly impacted her personal and professional life, prompting her to withdraw from the Tamil music scene and move to Rishikesh. Swagatha indicated that this misconduct was not an isolated case, asserting that other women have endured similar situations. Although she has not disclosed the name of the accused, she expressed her intention to seek legal recourse to prevent further victimization and ensure accountability.

In a revealing conversation with Sivasankari Talks on YouTube, Swagatha described the accused as the 'Epstein of Madras.' Known for her contributions to Tamil cinema, she stated that the alleged incident forced her to reevaluate her position in the industry, leading her to temporarily leave Chennai.
Swagatha recounted that the alleged abuse took place in the music director's recording studio, a space she once considered safe. She characterized the environment as highly controlled, noting that it was a soundproof room that was locked during sessions and monitored by CCTV, including hidden cameras. She claimed that this setup left her feeling completely isolated, asserting that even if she had called for help, no one would have heard her.

According to Swagatha, the incident was recorded, and the footage was subsequently used to threaten and intimidate her. The singer elaborated on the emotional toll this experience took on her life, revealing that she faced public humiliation, false accusations, and was discredited in her professional circles. She claimed that the family of the alleged abuser contributed to spreading negative narratives about her. Swagatha shared that the trauma deeply affected her, leading her to isolate herself for extended periods. She sought therapy and leaned on her sister for emotional support, stating that the experience left her grappling with both physical and emotional discomfort tied to the memory of the alleged abuse. Although she had previously consulted with lawyers and officials, she refrained from filing a formal complaint due to fear and lack of support. Now, however, she feels empowered and resolute in her decision to pursue legal action.
